  1. The promoter of this sweepstake is EDU Africa whose registered office is at 96 Beach Road, Noordhoek, South Africa. Reg number: 2016/130999/07.
  2. By entering this competition, an entrant is indicating his/her agreement to be bound by these terms and conditions.
    The sweepstake is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited.

  4. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this competition.
  5. This sweepstake is open to students that are currently enrolled in a UK or US based two or four year College or University degree program and aged 18 years or over on or after 1 October 2018. 
  6. Only entries that meet all necessary requirements will be considered for the draw: (i) Completed sweepstake entry form on this page,  (ii) Liked EDU Africa Facebook page ( or followed EDU Africa on Instagram (@edu_africa), (iii) Posted a photo on their Facebook Timeline or Instagram Feed of their campus explaining why they want to make Africa their classroom in 2019, (iv) used the #africamyclassroom2019 in the caption, (v) profiles need to be public in order for the photo entry to be tracked and validated.
  7. Only one entry form per person allowed. Multiple entries submitted by a single person during the entry period, whether from one email address or multiple email addresses shall render all of such person’s entries void and ineligible. 
  8. By submitting your photo entry, EDU Africa reserves the right to use it in promotional material including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, mailing list and print. 
  9. Entrants should be available and fit to travel to join one of the following 4 week programs in Africa:
  10. Maternity & Child Care, Tanzania, 21 July - 17 August 2019
  11. Social & Economic Development, South Africa, 2 - 29 June 2019
  12. Ecology & Conservation, Kenya, 1 - 28 July 2019
  13. African Democracy, Worldview & Culture, Zimbabwe, 23 June - 20 July 2019
  14. All programs are subject to reaching minimum participation sign ups in order to run in 2019.
  15. Employees of the promoter, staff and families of related suppliers, advertising, promotion and production agencies, and their agents and immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings and their spouses) are not eligible to participate in the prize drawing.
  16. EDU Africa will have the right, at its sole discretion and at any time, to change or modify these terms and conditions, such change shall be effective immediately upon posting to this webpage. EDU Africa also reserves the right to cancel the competition if circumstances arise outside of its control. Any changes to the competition will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.
  17. Closing date for entries will be 30 November 2018, 11:59 UTC+2. After this date, no further entries to the competition will be permitted. Winners will be chosen at random from all entries received within 7 days of the closing date. The promoter’s decision in respect of all matters to do with the sweepstake will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  18. The prize winner will be notified by email and/or DM on Facebook/Instagram within 7 days of the closing date. If the winner cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within 21 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.
  19. The prize winner will be required to follow the application process for the chosen program by filling in the application form and providing proof of current degree program enrolment. If these requirements are not met, the selected winner will forfeit the prize and a replacement winner will be selected.  
  20. If the selected prize winner is unable to travel to and participate in an EDU Africa program in 2019, the selected winner will forfeit the program placement, and another winner may be selected from among eligible entries received. 
  21. The prize value is estimated at approximately $4500.
  22. The winner will be able to participate in an EDU Africa Study Abroad program in 2019. More details of the current program options can be found here
  23. The chosen program is subject to minimum participation in 2019 and should the winners first option not be available another program can be chosen. All expenses related to the program including accommodation, in-country transport, meals and tuition are included in the prize. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein including, without limitation, flights, personal expenses, passport and visa fees, insurance and extra activities, are the responsibility of the winner. 
  24. The prize is subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value.The prize is non-transferable and will not be redeemable for cash or other prizes
  25. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with EDU Africa’s Privacy Policy that can be found here. Data will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. 
  26. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other Social Network. You are providing your information to EDU Africa and not to any other party. 
  27. The sweepstake and these terms and conditions will be governed by South African law and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of South Africa.
  28. By participating in the sweepstakes, entrants agree to release and hold harmless EDU Africa, their employees and any advertising and promotional agencies from and against any claim or causes of action, suits, debts, indirect or direct damages arising out of participation in the sweepstakes, or the awarding, acceptance and use or misuse of a prize. They shall not be responsible for: (i) any technical errors that may prevent an entrant from submitting an entry; (ii) unauthorized human intervention in the sweepstakes; (iii) printing errors; (iv) errors in the administration of the sweepstakes or the processing of entries; or (v) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries.
