Botswana’s economic landscape will be explored, with a specific emphasis on the diamond sector, which plays a vital role in the country’s economy.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend informative lectures, visit industry sites, and engage in discussions with local experts. They will gain insights into Botswana’s unique partnership with the De Beers diamond consortium and the government’s initiatives to maximize the benefits of diamond revenues for sustainable development, including investments in education, healthcare, and infrastructure. Students will also analyze the socio-economic impact of the diamond industry on local communities and examine innovative practices related to responsible business and corporate social responsibility.
