Our Response to COVID-19

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were sure that it would have a big impact on our work and our clients, but we never expected the pandemic to continue for such an extended period. We were sure that by mid-2020 the situation would be under control and that all would have returned to ‘normal’. This has, obviously, not been the case. While it is very encouraging to see the substantial advances made through the various vaccination drives, COVID-19 is still with us and continues to have an impact on our lives and those of our partners.

The safety, health, and well-being of our partners and program participants remain our top priority. Our team worked tirelessly to ensure that EDU Africa is compliant with global COVID-19 industry protocols and we are pleased to have received the World Travel & Tourism Council’s stamp of approval. We developed a robust set of internal COVID-19 protocols that are aligned with local government authorities and the WHO. These were developed and put in place to ensure the well-being of our staff, partners, and program participants while in our care. For more information on the specific actions we have taken to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 as well as the protocols we developed and have in place, please feel free to contact us.

In-country programming has now resumed. Our dedicated team is ready and available to assist with program development, both in-country and via virtual exchange. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us should you require any assistance. We have hosted students on the ground in our various countries of operation in the last few months and put into practice the COVID-19 protocols we developed. These protocols were carefully assessed for procedural viability and practicality with each program we hosted. It is a pleasure to report that we are doing well.

We hope that you, your family, and your friends have managed to navigate this pandemic safely so far, without serious incidents. EDU Africa invites you to come and experience Africa in person once again!
