This program gives participants the chance to experience Ghana’s vibrant cultural heritage, including traditional festivals, music, dance, art, and cuisine.

Students will participate in interactive workshops, visit historic sites, and engage with local communities to better understand the customs, beliefs, and traditions that define Ghanaian culture. They will also learn about the country’s rich history, from ancient kingdoms and colonial legacies to its involvement in the Pan-African movement and struggle for independence. Through intercultural activities and service learning projects, participants will form meaningful connections with Ghanaians, celebrate cultural diversity, and recognize the importance of preserving heritage for mutual understanding.

Learning Outcomes

The curation of this program option incorporated the learning outcomes listed below. However, specific learning outcomes and activities can be constructed in collaboration with our dedicated curriculum development team to create a customized program.

By the end of this program, students should be able to:

  • Understand the interconnectedness of diverse cultural identities in shaping a more inclusive and understanding world
  • Enhance their ability to connect with diverse perspectives and traditions
  • Develop an understanding of how cultural practices and historical events shape national identities and societal development
  • Enhance their ability to work effectively in diverse environments and contribute to global projects with an informed appreciation of cultural heritage and historical context
