This program will introduce participants to the rich tapestry of cultures found in Rwanda.

Participants will have the opportunity to explore historical sites, museums, and vibrant communities that have played important roles in shaping Rwanda’s history and culture. Throughout the program, discussions will be led by esteemed historians, successful business leaders, and inspiring community figures, fostering mutual appreciation and deep intercultural connections.

Learning Outcomes

The curation of this program option incorporated the learning outcomes listed below. However, specific learning outcomes and activities can be constructed in collaboration with our dedicated curriculum development team to create a customized program.

By the end of this program, students should be able to:
  • Develop a deep understanding and appreciation of various cultural perspectives and practices
  • Recognize the importance of improving and promoting cultural heritage for future generations
  • Understand the impact of heritage on identity and social cohesion
  • Recognize the interconnectedness of the world and the impact of local actions on global issues
  • Demonstrate increased personal self-awareness
  • Build confidence in expressing ideas and opinions in a culturally sensitive manner
  • Critically compare the effects of restorative justice and retributive justice
  • Assess how memory and memorialization contribute to justice and healing
  • Discuss the role of men in Rwandan post-conflict society
  • Enhance problem-solving and critical thinking skills in a multicultural context
